New “Truth Bites” for women

Welcome to “Truth Bites”… a place where a woman can get a little insight, a new perspective, and some clarity…about life, marriage, friendships, motherhood, working, and whatever else matters to women.

I have to say, this is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done…at least in my professional life.

Writing the first entry of my blog has been confusing, scary, and intimidating. Plus, I made the mistake of checking out some other blogs before I started, you know…to see how they kicked theirs off…BIG MISTAKE! Now I’m just plain scared and fear is definitely trying to persuade me to quit…maybe this isn’t such a good idea after all!

But in my life, fear is a familiar feeling. I’ve come to realize that usually when it creeps in like this, it’s a signal for me to press on. I must be about to embark on something that matters, so I either quit or continue. Of course, the easy thing to do is quit. It’s harder to do the work, to press forward despite fear’s sickening presence. Will I always know what to write about? Nope. Will anyone read my posts? Maybe. Will there be critics? Probably. You see, I’m only in control of doing this thing, not the results or impact it has. God is in charge, so today I’ll trust Him.

That being said, I would like to dedicate this first blog entry to my Lord and Savior, Jesus. May my writings be a fragrant thank offering to you, pleasing in every way.

“In God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me?

I am under vows to you, my God; I will present my thank offerings to you.

For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling,

That I may walk before God in the light of life.” ~ Ps. 56:11-13

So what can a woman like you expect from a woman like me? Let’s call it a little bit of truth wrapped in the transparency of my own life—something to nibble on, to savor, or even gnaw, like a meaty bone. You decide how what you read in Truth Bites pertains to your own life and how to apply the truth revealed to you. I’m sure the lessons will impact everyone differently. And, you can trust that it will all come from a biblical perspective. I promise I will try, try, try not to be preachy or a turn-off for the woman who may struggle with her faith.

Each week, I’ll post one or more of the following:

  • Interesting, relevant articles about things I am learning
  • Resources about marriage and family
  • Information about female issues for all ages
  • Book reviews of books I think you’ll like
  • Interviews from some spectacular women, who are strong, inspiring, and worth knowing about.

I will come up with some of the material on my own, while at times I may borrow from other sources that I come across. (I’ll give them the credit, of course.)

You can also sign-up for my monthly e-newsletter, The Radical Wife and I’ll send you monthly truths relevant to marriage and wives.

Thank you for joining me and see you soon!

P.S. If you know other women who could use a bit of truth and encouragement, please share this. You can also join me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest.
